RESOLUTION NO. 7452
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA ADOPTING THE JOB SPECIFI-
CATIONS FOR ASSISTANT TO THE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The job specifications for the classifica-
tion of Assistant to the City Administrator are hereby adopted to
read in accordance with the provisions of Exhibit A attached hereto
and incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 19th day of March, 1984.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 19th day of March, 1984, by the following

JOB SUMMARY

Date adopted:
Under administrative direction, performs a variety of professional, technical, analytical
and administrative duties in providing staff assistance to the City Administrator.
Coordinates activities of the City Administrator's Office with City departments and
divisions, and with outside agencies. In the absence of the City Administrator, serves
in an acting capacity in specifically delegated areas of responsibility and authority.
Representative Duties
Analyzes and interprets data and reports for the City Administrator; conducts studies
relating to operational and administrative problems and prepares relevant reports and
recommendations; answers correspondence in the areas of responsibility and as assigned;
participates in the preparation of the annual budget; confers.with_departmeut.heads.re-
garding policies, procedures and operational problems; performs public relations activi-
ties; represents the City Administrator when.necessary at conferences; responds to citizen
complaints and requests for information; prepares staff reports for presentation to City
Council; attends. meetings of the City Council; may supervise.zlerical-.personnel.
Organizational Responsibilities
Assistant to the City Administrator is a one -position classification reporting to the
City Administrator.
QUALFIFICATIONS GUIDE
Training and Experience
A bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, political.science,
or related field; and
Progressively responsible experience involving report preparation, program coordination,
administration research, financial analysis, and related responsibilities in a public
agency.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of the principles and practices of good management and administration as related
to municiple government; ability to gather and analyze data and draw conclusions; ability
to prepare clear, concise reports orally and in writing; knowledge of municipal organiza-
tion and its relationship with other levels of government and the community;.ability to
interact effectively with City.officials, employees, and the pubiic;-and perform other
representative duties as listed above.
