The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Roll call.
Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Chester,
Carr, City Attorney and City Clerk.
The minutes of the last regular meeting Minutes approved.

Commission relative to the removal of
Mulbury trees, saddle horses and the
erection of a wash house, was read.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Communication from

CITY OF AZUSA ESTABLISHING A PARK IM- ADOPTED.
PROVEMENT FUND AND TRANSFERRING ONE
THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM THE LIGHT FUND TO
SAID IMPROVEMENT FUND.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman Chester that this Resolution
be adopted as read and numbered Reso-
lution No. 1518.

Moved by Councilman Chester seconded by
Councilman Arnold that the kayor and City
Clerk be authorized and instructed to
sign a warrant drawn on the Los Angeles
County Highway Appropriation Fund in the
amount of $800. made payable to the
County of Los Angeles.

Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that it is the under-
standing of this Council that the out-
side of the City Club House Building shall,
during the time of the lease, be kept in
good condition and repair by the City and
the inside of the building kept in good
condition and repair by the canyon City
Post No. 180.

Councilman Chester offered the following
Resolution:
RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE
WHEREAS, W. D. Singleton, our fellow townsman,
friend and co-worker, has passed from our midst into that -
real from which no traveler returns; and
WHEREAS, our departed friend and fellow worker
has spent many years of his unselfish and active life in
Azusa and vicinity during which period he has given much
of his time, effort and ability to promoting the public
welfare and the up -building of our community; and
WHEREAS the deceased for some time prior to his
passing was Building Inspector of the City of Azusa where
' he labored consistently and faithfully for the public good
and gave much of his time, energy and exceptional ability
towards solving the City's problems and making our commun-
ity a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS in the passing of W. D. Singleton the
community has lost a real friend, worker and neighbor:
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the
City Council of the City of Azusa, California, at a
regular session assembled this 1st day of March, 1937,
that we hereby express our personal loss and sympathy as
well as the heartfelt sympathy of this community to the
members of the bereaved family in the loss of a faithful
husband, a good father, staunch friend and useful citizen.
