RESOLUTION N0.7598
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE JOB SPECIFI-
CATIONS FOR POLICE OFFICER TRAINEE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The job specifications for the classifi-
cations of Police Officer Trainee are hereby amended to read in
accordance with Exhibit A attached hereto are incorporated herein
by reference.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 19th day of November, 1984.

Azusa Police Department training officer.
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE
Training and Experience
Successful completion of the required four-year high school
curriculum resulting in high school graduation and the
equivalency of 15 college se_iester units.
After appointment an employee should be willing to attend
college -level classes in police science and related fields
during off hours in order to qualify and meet the require-
ments for advancement. Employees are required to success-
fully complete an approved P.O.S.T. academy.
Knowledge and Abilities
A high degree of general intelligence, verbal facility,
memory, and adaptability are required of all police officers.
Ability to understand departmental policies, rules,
instructions, laws, regulations, and police literature,

together with an aptitude for law enforcement work; analyze situations
and adopt a quick, effective, and reasonable course of action; write
clear and accurate reports; use good English and a good vocabulary;
understand and follow oral directions; learn the use and care of
automobiles and small firearms; meet weight, height, and other
physical endurance and agility requirements. Keen observation and
ability to remember names, faces, and details of incidents.

for each applicant

(1) fall within the ranges

table, or

the applicant's height is not

acceptable after individual
evaluation.

3. Hearing: Ability to pass a closed booth audiogram
examination at a minimum of 25 decibals
and discern a whisper at 15 feet
4. Vision: Normal visual function and acuity, not
less than 20/70 in each eye without
correction, and corrected to 20/20 in
each eye, with normal color vision
Citizenship Requirement
Must fulfill the United States citizen requirements for
police officer in accordance with Section 1031.5 of the
Government Code.
Licenses
Valid California driver's license
Must be free from felony convictions
