The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Chester,
Carr, City Attorney and City Clerk.
The minutes of the last regular meeting.
of March 1, 1937 were read and approved
as read.
' A communication signed by Walter Grayson
Chief District Sanitary Inspector, was
read.
Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that the City Clerk be
instructed to write Mr. Grayson thanking
him forthe suggestion relative to the
automatic chlorinators for the swimming
pool and to inform him that the matter
will be given serious consideration
also to file the communication.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester, Carr.
Noes: None, Absent: None.
A communication signed by William Goedert,
Mr. Smith and Mr. Daltoneddressed the
Council explaining in detail their plans
for the event. Mr. Dalton asked the
Council to donate $500.00 toward this
project.
Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman Strohmeier that the matter be
referred to the City Council as a Committee
of the Whole.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester, Carr.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
' League Bulletin #6, relative to the pro-
visions of the National Banking Act, was
read.
Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman McIntire that the City Clerk
be authorized to write members of the
Senate of the United States and members
of the Congress from this District, re-
questing them to support Bill # H.R.42159
introduced by Mr. Eicher.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:

Arnold, Chester, Carr,

Commander and Paul E. Smith, Adjutant of
the American Legion Canyon City Post No,
180, thanking the Council for the new
roof on the Club house, was read and
ordered placed on file.

A communication from Mr. Smith, Secretary
of the Chamber of Commerce, requesting a
donation toward street decorations and
the preparation of the Rodeo Grounds for
Azusa's 50th Anniversary to be held May
19 1937, was read.
Mr. Smith and Mr. Daltoneddressed the
Council explaining in detail their plans
for the event. Mr. Dalton asked the
Council to donate $500.00 toward this
project.
Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman Strohmeier that the matter be
referred to the City Council as a Committee
of the Whole.

Mr. Harrington of the Riser Lumber Company
