A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA ADOPTING THE JOB SPECIFI-
CATIONS FOR CLERICAL/ACCOUNT TECHNICIAN
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The job specifications for the classi-
fication of Clerical/Account Technician are hereby adopted to
read in accordance with Exhibit A attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
ADOPTED.AND APPROVED THIS 20th day of August, 1984.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a
regular meeting hereof held on the 20th day of August, 1984, by
the following vote of Council:

Under direction -- performs difficult clerical work involving statistical typing, the
use of independent judgment and varied and responsible recordkeeping activities. Operates
calculators, automated data processing equipment, and CRT on-line terminals and other
office equipment; and does related work as required.
esentative Duties
Duties may include, but may not be limited to the following; Learn and apply general
accounting procedures; job costing, work with accounts receivable, accounts payable,
payroll, and subsidiary ledgers; process employee insurance claims; operate CRT on-line
terminal and computer printer. Maintain records and files: act as receptionist taking
calls, greeting public, and providing pertinent information according to department and
city policv. Mav take dictation or transcribe from dictating machine or rough draft:
compose and tvpe correspondence for department head approval: compile, organize, tabulate
and summarize data for preparation of reports; train and supervise assigned full- or
part-time employee/s; schedule and arrange interviews, meetings, and appointments; main-
tain calendar for department head; prepare agendas and type minutes; perform other duties
which are unique to the Finance Department.
Organizational Responsibilities
Clerical/Account Technician is a one -position classification reporting to the Director
of Finance. May supervise other clerical staff as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school or equivalent; and
Three years of increasingly responsible experience in general clerical office and
typing work with some experience in bookeeping and use of automated data processing
equipment and/or CRT on-line terminals. Experience with word processing equipment highly
desirable.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of modern office methods, procedures, equipment, arithmetic, recordkeeping,
office organization, filing systems, proper grammar, spelling, and written composition.
Ability to perform a variety of clerical and bookkeeping activities and work independently,
including difficult statistical typing; make computations rapidly and accurately; operate
various types of adding/calculating machines and automated data processing equipment
and/or CRT on-line terminals; index and file; maintain effective relationships with
management staff, co-workers, and the public; follow oral and written ilistructions;
communicate effectively; work cooperately with other departments and outside agencies.
Position requires high degree of clerical aptitude and the ability to learn and apply
new procedures accurately and consistently.
