HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 75450 • RESOLUTION No. 7545 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA SUPPORTING SCA 23 (AYALA) ALLOCATING VEHICLE LICENSE FEE TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT. WHEREAS, following the passage of tax reduction referenda by the voters in 1978 and 1979, the severe loss of revenues by the State of California caused it to withhold the bulk of its revenues for Motor Vehi- cle License Fees (VLF), and WHEREAS, these VLF revenues had traditionally been regarded as a reliable source of revenues to municipalities as a State subvention, and WHEREAS, the City of Azusa has lost as much as $500,000 annually due to the withholding of such funds, and WHEREAS, Senator Ruben S. Ayala has outlined a State Constitut- ional Amendment which would establish the VLF as a permanent source of local revenues, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Azusa hereby supports the passage of Constitutional Amendment 23 which guarantees the Vehicle License Fee as a local government revenue source. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED, this 20thd;y of August 1984.
