HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 7536RESOLUTION NO. 7536 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE JOB SPECIFI- CATIONS FOR SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR/RECEPTIONIST THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The job specifications for the classifi- cation of Switchboard Operator/Receptionist are hereby amended to read in accordance with the provisions of Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 6th day of August, 1984. N. , PAR WE I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day of August, 1984, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: CRUZ, COOK, CAMARENA, LATTA, MOSES NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE I CITY CLERK CITY OF AZUSA SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR/RECEPTIONIST (Exhibit A) Date adopted: JOB SUMMARY Under general supervision, operates a switchboard, answers a volume of routine public inquiries, performs clerical duties, types, and does related work as required. Representative Duties Responsible for all aspects of switchboard operation; trains relief operations; receives and relays telephone messages; greets the public and responds to inquiries; refers visitors and/or questions to the appropriate department for disposition. Performs general clerical duties which may include: typing of correspondence, business licenses, invoices, Council agenda and minutes (from drafts; processing business license applications; responsibility for cash receipts; follow-up on past due accounts; ordering of supplies; and related work as required. Organizational Relationships This classification is a specialized one -position class responsible to the City Administrator's Office. May supervise a relief operator. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and Experience Graduation from high school, or equivalency, and One year of responsible clerical experience Knowledee and Abilities Knowledge of switchboard operation desirable. Ability to: think and work effectively under stress; perform general clerical, typing and mathematical work with speed and accuracy; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; provide clear explanations to inquiries; use proper grammar; communicate with the public in a congenial manner. Must also have good hearing ability, a pleasant voice, and clear enunciation. Skills Typing: 40 wpm Page 1 of 1
