RESOLUTION NO. 7534
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA ADOPTING THE JOB SPECIFI=
CATIONS FOR ELECTRICAL TEST TECHNICIAN
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The job specifications for the classi-
fication of Electrical Test Technician are hereby adopted
to read in accordance.with Exhibit A attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 6th day of August, 1984.

ELECTRICAL TEST TECHNICIAN Date approved:
JOB SUMMARY
Under direction, performs complex electrical.and mechanical
work in connection with the installation, testing and repair
of electric meters, instruments and related equipment.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Installs, chanees and checks polyphase meters, demand meters,
reactive VAR meters and instrument transformers. Performs
routine field tests on watt-hour meter installations, inspects
consumer's meters and installations for proper wiring. Assist
in investigation of consumer current diversion or meter tamper-
ing. Tests, repairs and adjusts protective relays, meters,
clocks, recorders, instruments located in substations and
pumping stations. Tests, repairs and calibrates solid-state
equipment. Establish a meter testing program to insure the
accuracy of electric meters in service. Makes high-voltage tests
on cables and equipment and such tests as required to locate
faults in underground cables. Locate causes of and eliminate
radio and TV interference. keeps logs and records of all tests
and makes reports; makes load surveys by timing watthour meters
and other related duties.
ORGANIZATION RESPONSBILITIES
This is a one -position class reporting to Electric Operations
Supervisor. Works independently to organize, plan and carry
out the tasks as prescribed; and to coordinate -with other
Divisions to achieve efficient operation of this department.
OUA_IFICATIO`' GUIDE
Trainin¢ and Experience
T::ree years of progressively responsible experience in the
installation, maintenance, and testing of electric meters and
other related instruments. Graduation from high school or
equivalent. .academic training in electrical and electronic
theory and practice is not mandatory, but would be desirable.
Knowledge and Abilitv
Knowledge of the theory, methods, and procedures in the installa-
tion,maintenance, testing and calibration of electric metering,
and testing instruments and equipment; knowledge of the safety
rules and regulations applicable when working on or around
energized electrical equipment; ability to make calculations in
electrical load survey; ability to maintain and calibrate test
instruments in accord with established standards; and the ability
to maintain effective working relations with others.
Licenses
Valid California Class III drivers license
