HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 78410 0 RESOLUTION NO. 7841 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE CITY OF AZUSA WITH RESPECT TO CERTAIN PROPERTIES WITHIN AND CURRENTLY ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF AZUSA (GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 85-4) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Azusa hereby finds, determines and declares that: A. There is in effect a duly -adopted General Plan for the City of Azusa, Land Use Element, designating all property within the City of Azusa for certain land uses and providing other requirements for the use of land; B. The General Plan Amendment which is the subject of this Resolution was the subject of a duly -noticed public hearing by the Planning Commission of the City of Azusa on November 6, 1985, at which time the Planning Commission heard and considered evidence on the amendment, and by its Resolution No. 2240, adopted by a vote of six in favor, none against, and one absent, said vote being not less than a majority of its total membership, recommended that the City Council approve this amendment; C. The General Plan Amendment which is the subject of this Resolution was also the subject of a duly -noticed public hearing before the City Council of the City of Azusa on December 16, 1985, at which time the City Council heard and considered evidence on the said amendment as recommended by the Planning Commission; D. The General Plan Amendment adopted by this Resolution is the same amendment as considered by the Planning Commission; E. The General Plan Amendment adopted by this Resolution is the fourth amendment to the Land Use Element for the calendar year 1985; F. The adoption of this amendment to the General Plan is in the interest of the public health, safety and general welfare of the City of Azusa and is consistent with good zoning and planning practices; G. The amendment to the Land Use Element of the General Plan approved by this Resolution is consistent with the other provisions of the General Plan of the City of Azusa; and H. In taking this action, the City Council con- sidered the effects of this action on the housing needs of the region in which the City is located and balanced those needs against the public 0 • service needs of the City residents and avail- able fiscal and environmental resources. SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby amend the Land Use Element of the General Plan of the City of Azusa to designate the area generally designated as 128 acres in size containing two sections designated 14 and 15 which are immediately adjacent to the northern boundary of the City of Azusa and the easterly boundary of the City of Duarte, and more specifically described on Exhibit "A," attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, as "Community Facilities." SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby amend the Land Use Element of the General Plan of the City of Azusa to change the land -use designation for the property generally described as 1041 West Arrow Highway, and legally described as the easterly 240 feet of the southerly 160 feet of the southeast quarter of Section 3, Township 1, South Range 10 West, of the San Bernardino Meridian, a map of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and incorporated herein by reference, from "medium density residential" to "general commercial." SECTION 4. The General Plan of the City of Azusa shall be endorsed by the Director of Community Development to show the amendment adopted by this Resolution. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of December 1985.
