HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 78010 RESOLUTION NO. 7801 0 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA COMMITTING, IF FINANCIALLY FEASIBLE, TO THE PURCHASE AND RELOCATION OF THE GLADSTONE HOUSE AT 960 EAST GAILLARD STREET THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City of Azusa is committed to perserving its historical resources; and WHEREAS, the City, as part of its historical element, has a strong interest in locating a Heritage House to house its museum; and WHEREAS, this house will be open to the public and be a benefit to the entire community; and WHEREAS, the City has located an 1887 Queen Anne Victorian home, which is presently situated at 960 East Gaillard Street, as a potential facility; and WHEREAS, the City and the seller have entered into serious negotiations for the purchase of the home; and WHEREAS, if financially feasible, the City intends to buy the home and relocate the structure in the City Park; and WHEREAS, the City has entered into negotiations with the seller for the future development of the Gaillard site once the home is removed. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Azusa City Council intends, if financially reasible, to purchase the structure at 960 East Gaillard and to relocate the home in the City Park for use as the City's Heritage House and Museum. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of October , 1985.
