HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 80160 0 RESOLUTION NO. 8016 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA COMMENDING RICHARD LARA FOR HIS SERVICES TO THE CITY WHEREAS, when seeking to encapsulate a description of Richard Lara's philosophy of life, the Prince of Wales coat of arms enscription, "ICH DIEN (I serve)", comes to mind; "Strong in Rule", (the definition of his name) Richard Lara has pursued a fulgent way in an all too often f.uliginous world. Unstained, projecting the straight and comprehensive model of the ideal Man of Law, he has fulfilled the multifarious aspects of his chosen profession: the enforcement of formally moral, ethical and spiritual rules of conduct as a person duly trained and sworn to so carry out; and WHEREAS, this, Captain Lara has done since June 15, 1955, when he entered into Citv em_plovment as a police officer. Another quotation comes to mind when attempting to characterize Captain Lara: "WHO DOTH PROTECT HIS NEIGHBORS ALL HATH HEARD IN TRUTH GOD'S OWN SWEET CALL AND O'ER EVIL CASTS A PALL", and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Azusa unites in extending its commendation, gratitude and appreciation to CAPTAIN RICHARD LARA on the occasion of his well-earned retirement; further, it wishes him the best of good fortune as he, "The Compleat Angler", in the future, has greater freedom to excel in wreaking marine life havoc as he exhibits his superior prowess in piscatorial pursuit and acquisition.
