HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 80150 0 RESOLUTION NO. 8015 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA CHANGING THE GENERAL PLAN DESIGNA- TION FOR PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED AT 1151 WEST ARROW HIGHWAY FROM MEDIUM -DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO HIGH-DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 86-2) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby find, determine and declare that: A. There is in effect a duly adopted General Plan for the City of Azusa which contains a Land Use Element designating all property within the City for certain land uses; B. An application for change in the land use designation for the subject property was duly filed by Mr. Barry A. Cottle on behalf of R.C. Hobbs Development Corporation. The Sub- ject Property is generally described as that certain parcel of property generally known as 1151 West Arrow Highway and legally described as: The E220' of the SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 3, Township 1 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Meridian Except a strip of land 25' wide of the south side thereof for road purposes and as shown on a map on file with the City Clerk. C. The change and amendment to the General Plan as described herein was duly initiated, and notice of public hearings thereon was duly given and published in accordance with applica- ble law. D. Public hearings thereon were duly held by the Planning Commission of the City of Azusa on February 19, 1986, and by the City Council of the City of Azusa on April 15, 1986. E. On February 19, 1986, the Planning Commission of the City of Azusa heard and considered the evidence presented to it concerning the proposed amendment at the public hearing and by its Resolution No. 2281 adopted by a vote of five in favor and two against, said vote being not less than a majority of the total members, recommended that the City Council deny the pro- posed amendment. F. The City Council at its meeting of April 15, 1986, heard and considered all of the evidence presented to it concerning the proposed amend- ment, including but not limited to, the recom- mendation of the Planning Commission. 0 0 G. The adoption of this amendment to the General Plan is in the interest of the public health, safety and welfare of the City of Azusa and is consistent with good zoning and planning practices. H. This amendment to the General Plan is consistent with the other provisions of the General Plan and all elements thereof. I. In taking this action the City Council considered the effects of the decision on the housing needs of the region in which the City is located and balanced those needs against the public service needs of the City residents and available fiscal and environmental resources. SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Azusa based on the above findings does hereby amend the General Plan of the City of Azusa, Land Use Element, to change the land use designa- tion of the subject property from "Medium Density Residential" to "High Density Residential." SECTION 3. The Director of Housing and Community Development shall revise the Land Use Element of the General Plan of the City of Azusa to reflect the changes in said element approved by this Resolution. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution. 1986.
