CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. JULY 19, 1937. 7:30 P. M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Roll call.
Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Chester,
Carr, City Attorney and City Clerk.
A communication from the Southern California
Edison Company, enclosing rate schedule
was read.
Moved and carried that the City Clerk be
instructed to answer this letter, again
making a formal request for information
relative to a contract between the City
of Azusa and the Southern California
Edison Company.
Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by
Councilman Strohmeier that the correspond-
ence be accepted and placed on file.

Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester, Carr.
Noes: None. Absent: None.

to write Southern
California Edison Co.
A copy of the "Notification of Liquor Application for a
License Application," made by Marion F. liquors license read.
Moya for an "on -sale beer and wine license"
to the State Board of Equalization, was read.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman Strohmeier that this application Moved and carried
be returned to the State Board of that application be

same type have had similar disturbances and
he felt the Council should not discriminate.
A report from J. C. Muehe and Owens-Vosburg
on the fleet and non -ownership policy were
read.
Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman Strohmeier that the City Clerk
be instructed to authorize Mr. J. C. Muehe
to renew policy on the fleet and non-owner-
ship

ship if he is able to give the City advantage
of the new rate submitted by Owens-Vosburg
Company.
Carried by the follov:'ing vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester.
Noes: Councilman Carr. Absent: None.
Reports on fleet
insurance read.
City Clerk authorized
to request Mr. Muehe
to renew policy.
The minutes of the last regular meeting
of July 6, 1937 were read and approved
as read.

Correspondence from Jerry Voorhis,
Senator McAdoo, Morris S. Jones, Chief
Engineer and General Manager of the Water
Department of the City of Pasadena,
Spence D. Turner, County Forester and Fire
Warden, Richard Graves, Secretary of the
League of California Municipalities and
an invitation to attent the.dedication
program for San Gabriel Dam #1, were read.
A communication from the Southern California
Edison Company, enclosing rate schedule
was read.
Moved and carried that the City Clerk be
instructed to answer this letter, again
making a formal request for information

A petition, with 35 names attached thereto,
protesting the re -zoning of 'their section
of the City" from residentail to heavy
industrial, was presented.
Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that this matter be
referred to the City Planning Commission
to report back at the next regular meeting
of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
' Arnold, Chester, Carr.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
The matter of re -opening First Street and
hoeing the weeds on or near First Street
was presented.
Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by
Councilman McIntire thatthe matter be
referred to the Board of Public Works to
report back.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester, Carr.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Counailman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman McIntire that City Engineer
Kressly be instructed to prepare maps
showing water mains, etc, and to inform
the Council as to the price of additional
copies of the map.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester, Carr.
' Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Arnold offered a Resolution
entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
ACCEPTING EASEMENT FROM THE AZUSA FOOT -HILL
CITRUS COMPANY, DATED JUNE 24, 1937, FOR
RIGHT OF WAY, ETC. IN A PORTION OF LOTS 54
AND 55 SUBDIVISION NO. 2, AZUSA LAPID AND
WATER COMPANY.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman Strohmeier that this Resolution
be adopted as read and numbered Resolution
No. 1534.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester, Carr.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Mr. Browning, Los Angeles County Health
Inspector, addressed the City Council
relative to the quarantine on dogs.
' Mayan Carr instructed Chief Bierbower
to carry out suggestions made by Mr.
Browning relative to Rabie control.
Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that the City Council
enter executive session for ten minutes.
At the end of this time the meeting was
resumed.
Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman McIntire that the following
requisitions be allowed:
1818-1819-1820-1821-1822-1823-1824-1825-
1826-1827-1828.
Petition objecting -
to another rock
crusher in the S. W.
portion of the City
presented.
Moved and carried
that same be re-
ferred to the City
Planning Commission.
Matter of re -opening
First Street referred
to the Board of Public
Works to report back.
City Engineer
requested to prepare
maps.
