The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Roll call. McIntire, Chester, Carr, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilmen Strohmeier and Arnold. The minutes of the last regular meeting Minutes approved. of August 2, 1937 were read and approved ' as read. A communication signed by Harry V. Owens, Communication read. relative to_the Insurance Policy cover- ing lighting standards on Foothill Boulevard, was read. Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by City Clerk authorized Councilman Chester that the City Clerk be to renew policy. authorized and instructed to renew this policy with Owens-Vosburg Insurance Agency. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Chester, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Strohmeier and Arnold. A note of appreciation from the J. B. Vosburg, Communication read granting the City permission to install and ordered placed lights on the Clinic Play grounds, was read on file. and ordered placed on file. Jones, Chief Communication from Engineer of the Nater Department of the Chief Engineer Jones City of Pasadena, relative to the Hydro referred to Paul Electric Plant located in the San Gabriel Kressly and Jack Canyon, was presented. Pierce. Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by Councilman Chester that same be referred to City Engineer Kressly and Jack Pierce, Superintendent of Light and Water, for checking. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Chester, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Strohmeier and Arnold. Dr. Sandavol addressed the Council relative to housing the arts and crafts project sponsored by the WPA Workers. Councilman McIntire informed Dr. Sandavol, Dr. Sandavol after having been advised by City Attorney addressed the Miller, that the City Council were not in Council. ' a position to spend money on such a project and gave Dr. Sandavol $5.00 to start a fund to which individual citizens may con- tribute as they see fit. Mr. C. K. Detrick, manager of the Tip Top Manager of the Tip Hotel, addressed the Council relative to a Top Hotel addressed "bus stop" in front of the Hotel, the Council. Mayor Carr informed Mr. Detrick that the Council would take this matter up at a later date. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Requisitions. Councilman McIntire that the following requisitions be allowed: 1841 -1842-1843-1844-1845-1846-1847-1848- 1849-1850-1851-1852-1853 Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Chester, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Strohmeier and Arnold. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman McIntire that the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon Bills. ' the Treasury for the same. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Chester, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Strohmeier and Arnold. GENERAL FUND Street Superintendent Art Wolfe presented the matter of a broken springboard at the swimming pool.
