A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
ESTABLISHING A NEW CLASSIFICATION OF TRANSPORTATION
DISPATCHER AND ESTABLISHING A SALARY THEREFOR.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The class specification of Transportation
Dispatcher is hereby adopted in its entirety in accordance with
Exhibit "A" attached and incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The salary range for Transportation
Dispatcher shall be Range No. 163 ($1,673.35 - $2,033.97 per
month).
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 17th day of August, 1987.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular
meeting thereof on the 17th day of August, 1987, by the following
vote of Council:

(Exhibit "A")
To schedule and dispatcher transportation services.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives direction from the Transportation Coordinator and other
higher level professional and management positions.
Exercises general dispatch related supervision over Bus Drivers.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to
the following:
Participate in planning for transportation services; designs routes
and schedules.
Dispatch bus drivers; maintain radio contact with buses.
Maintain records of transportation program activities; assist in
preparing periodic summary reports
Arrange for transportation for senior citizens, handicapped
persons and others to and from their homes, visits to doctors'
offices, shopping, and recreation and other activities.
Arrange for service and repair of vehicles as needed.
Participate in planning for overall transportation services.
Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Transporation needs and operational concerns of the program.
Scheduling and route planning techniques.
Record keeping and reporting systems.
Basic knowledge of daily preventative vehicle maintenance.
Ability to:
Effectively schedule and dispatch operations in a trans-
portation system.

Supervise the work of others.
Keep records accurately and neatly.
Respond to emergency and problem situations; react effectively.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with
others; interact courteously and effectively with the public.
Operate a bus safely.
Physical capability sufficient to perform job tasks.
Experience and Education:
To qualify for this classification, an individual must
possess any combination of experience and education that
would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities.
License and Certificate:
Possession of a valid California Class 2 Driver's License.
Possession of a valid cardiopulmonary resusitation (CPR)
card or the to obtain one within six (6) months of initial
employment.
