It was unanimously agreed that the Auditorium
be closed to the public until the necessary
repairs are made to the building.
Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by
Councilman Strohmeier that -the matter of
repairing damage to the Auditorium be
referred to the Board of Public Works, with
power to act.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester, Carr.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
A request to peddle peanuts and popcorn on
the streets was presented by Felix Martinez.
City Attorney Miller explained to Mr.
Martinez+s representative that the City
license for peddling is $5.00 per day.
No further action taken.
A communication from Guy Thompson requesting
the Council to remove, from the fire zone,
the west side of Block 21, was read.
Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that this matter be
referred to the Board of Public Works to
report back.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester, Carr.

A communication from.Geo. W. Jones, Road
Commissioner, stating that the City of Azusa's
allocation from the County is $3,386.69, was
read.

The City Council of the -City of Azusa met
in regular session at the above time and
place. ,
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Chester, Carr,
City Attorney and City Clerk.
The minutes of the last regular meeting of
September 20, 1937 were read and approved
as read.
_ Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that the application of
Aristides John Cockinos to operate a Cafe
at #1000 West Foothill Boulevard be accepted
and placed on file and the City Clerk
authorized to issue a license to Mr.
Cockinos.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester, Carr.
Noes: None, Absent: None.
A request to use the Auditorium on each
Thursday evening, offered by the General
Welfare Club, was read.
Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman Strohmeier that permission be
granted the above mentioned Club to use the
Auditorium on each Thursday evening during
the month of October, providing there are no
other requests in conflict therewith.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Fred Williams in the amount of $1000.

The manager of the Tip Top Hotel appeared
before the Council and requested permission
to erect a sign on Foothill Boulevard, at
the East City Limits.
The City Clerk was instructed to write
Captain of the State Motor Patrol to
ascertain whether or not such a sign could
be erected,
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman McIntire that the Mayor and City
Clerk be authorized and instructed to sign
an agreement between the City of Azusa and
the Los Angeles County Health Department.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmsier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester, Carr,
Noes: None, Absent: None.
Thos. L. Munson -appeared before the Council
requesting permission to employ an assistant
in making out the tax bills.

Councilman Chester that Mr. Munson be
authorized to employ help, the time not to
exceed two weeks,

purchasing the hydro electric plant, situated
