HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 8185RESOLUTION NO. 8185 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REQUESTING AN ALLOCATION OF COUNTY "HIGHWAY THROUGH CITIES" FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF MEDIANS IN FOOTHILL BOULEVARD/ALOSTA AVENUE IN THE CITY OF AZUSA WHEREAS, the City of Azusa is proposing to construct and reconstruct curbed medians and channelization in Foothill Boulevard from Todd Avenue to Alosta Avenue and in Alosta Avenue from Foothill Boulevard to Barranca Avenue in the City of Azusa; and WHEREAS, the above described city streets are arterial highways of County -wide significance, and the proposed improvements will enchance the traffic flow and safety on these highways, and plans and specifications for this urgently needed project have been completed; and WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the construction of the medians, restriping and channelization is $125,000, and the City requires assistance in financing this project: NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa resolves that: 1. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles is hereby requested to allocate $60,000 in County "Highway Through Cities" funds to the City of Azusa for the work specified above, and to pay this amount to the City when claimed. 2. The City Clerk shall certify to this resolution and certified copies shall be forwarded to the Honorable Peter Schabarum, Supervisor of the First Supervisorial District and to the County Director of Public Works. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 2nd day of March, 1987 C1/-e'A441 MAYOR I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of March, 1987, by the following vote of the Council.
