HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 8269• RESOLUTION NO. 8269 • A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REGARDING THE NON -REPRESENTED CLASSIFIED AND NON -CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES; AND ELECTED AND APPOINTED OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF AZUSA THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Whereas, the non -represented classified employees and non - represented non -classified employees of the City of Azusa are not covered by a meet -and -confer process; and SECTION 2. Whereas, the salary, stipend, and compensation for elected and appointed officials of the City of Azusa need to be codified for administrative purposes; and SECTION 3. Whereas, it is appropriate at this time to make adjustments in wages and benefits to certain employees and officials and to restate certain existing wages and benefits for administrative convenience; and SECTION 4. Whereas, there is currently existing authorized Memoranda of Understanding with representatives of those employees covered by a meet -and - confer process with respect to wages, benefits and compensation. SECTION 5. Now, therefore, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby grant adjustments to non -represented classified employees resulting in the salary ranges and benefits indicated in Exhibit "A"; and wage, stipend, and/or benefits adjustments to non -represented non -classified employees, elected officials, and appointed officials as indicated in Exhibit "B" attached hereto. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 29th day of June, 1987. The employee benefits for employees in the classification of Police Officer Trainee shall be in accordance with those enumerated in the 1987-88 Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the law enforcement association. The employee in the classification of Personnel Officer shall have no benefits whatsoever unless that employee is concurrently employed in another classified City position. The uniform allowance for employees in the classifications of Community Services Officer, Jailer, Police Cadet, and Police Officer Trainee shall be $250.00 per year. This allowance will be paid to the employees on a one-time basis. Any part-time non -classified employee who works in excess of one thousand (1,000) hours in the fiscal year shall have their contribution to the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) paid by the City. Any part-time non -classified employee who is assigned to work twenty (20) or more hours each week on a consistent basis throughout the fiscal year shall be entitled to pro -rated Holiday pay. All elected officials shall be entitled to the same cafeteria benefit plan and life insurance coverage as executive management employees. The Mayor shall receive three hundred thirty dollars ($330.00) per month as a vehicle allowance.
