RESOLUTION NO. 8258
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA COMMENDING MS. ROSIE
HERRERA FOR HER SERVICES TO HER
FELLOW MAN
WHEREAS, in the all too often occurring social
attitudes of non-envolvement, estrangement and alienation, people
readily accept roles of supine passivity instead of action; many
hands are wrung in frustration, many fingers are pointed at others
in dismay. And so, when a person does act purposefully, positively
and unselfishly, all are reminded that compassion, kindness and
readiness to aid in a time of crisis have not been lost to us, and
WHEREAS, recently, we were treated to an outstanding
instance of this, when ROSIE HERRERA, a resident of our city, assisted
a police officer in administering CPR to a neighbor who had suffered
a full cardiac arrest, caused by an apparent heart attack, and
WHEREAS, as long as we have among us caring people like
MS. HERRERA we can be assured that our society has not lost those
qualities upon which the existence of America is founded.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Azusa, proudly unites in extending to MS. ROSIE HERRERA its commendation
for her actions which exemplify the highest, most noble traditions of
the United States of America.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 15th day of June, 1987.
