HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 82370 0 RESOLUTION NO. 8237 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ADOPTING THE REVISED STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES FOR THE 1987-88 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Azusa is participating under the County of Los Angeles Urban Community Development Block Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City staff has considered and evaluated projects and programs fulfilling important community needs; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the City's community development needs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby take the following actions: Section 1. Approve the Revised Statement of Objectives and Projected Use of 13th Year CDBG Funds attached hereto as Exhibit A and submit the approved projects to the Community Development Commission after proper publishing and receipt of public input. Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this resolution. PASSED AND APPROVED this 27th day of May , 1987. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly passed, approved, and adopted by the City Council of the Cityof Azusa, at a regular meeting of said City Council held on then?th_ day of May , 1987 by the following vote of the Council: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: AVILA, COOK, CRUZ, LATTA, MOSES NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE ABSTAIN:_ COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE Ci • EXHIBIT A • r AMENDED STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES AND PROJECTED USE OF 13TH YEAR CDBG FUNDS On January 19, 1987 the Azusa City Council approved the following projects for $348,052 in 13th Year CDBG Funding: Approved Program 1. Handyman -- Minor home repair grants for low/mod households ($42,000) 2. Housing Rehabilitation -- Low interest loans or deferred loans for low/mod households ($271,240). 3. Administration -- Project management ($34,804). The City Council has reconsidered its community development needs and proposes the following projects using $348,052 in 13th Year CDBG Funding as well as $52,275 of accumulated program income. Amended Program 1. Handyman -- Same as above ($42,000). 2. Administration -- Same as above ($34,804). 3. Downtown Revitalization -- Program to acquire properties for parking and related uses to support downtown revitalization efforts ($271,248). 4. Drug Prevention and Anti -Gang Program -- Program to provide instruction for local school children in drug prevention and anti -gang support ($37,275). 5. Senior Citizen Caseworker -- Program to provide counseling and referral services to senior citizens.
