RESOLUTION NO. 8304
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA PROCLAIMING SEPTEMBER 17, 1987, AS
CONSTITUTION DAY IN THE CITY OF AZUSA.
WHEREAS, September Seventeenth, Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-seven,
is the Two Hundredth Aniversary of the signing of the United States
Constitution, and
WHEREAS, the laws adopted under this Charter of Freedom and the
attractive way of life resulting, have drawn to our shores citizens from
every corner of the World, and provide impressive evidence of the enlightened
vision and the wisdom of the drafters of the Constitution, and
WHEREAS, the Bicentennial of the Constitution offers the oportunity
for the American People to re -dedicate themselves to the great principles
that have formed the basis for our National strength and prosperity, and
WHEREAS, it is timely and appropriate for us to keep in our hearts
and minds the marvelous achievements of the Constitutional Convention in
1787 and to preserve the Constitutional Republic and the high ideals of
our Founding Fathers;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, does hereby proclaim,
September 17, 1987, as
CONSTITUTION DAY IN THE CITY OF AZUSA
and call upon all citizens of Azusa to join in celebrating and commemorating
Constitution Day and other dates and events relating thereto.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this Eighth day of September, Nineteen Hundred
and Eighty-seven.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted
by the City Council of the City of Azusa, at a regular meeting thereof,
held on the 8th day of September, 1987, by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: AVILA, COOK, CRUZ, LATTA, MOSES
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE

RESOLUTION NO. 8303 - A
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE CANVASS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 1987, BE MADE
BY THE CITY CLERK.
WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election will be held and
conducted in the City of Azusa, California, on Tuesday, October
6, 1987, as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires the canvass of the
election to be made by the City Clerk;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to Section 22932.5 of the
Elections Code of the State of California, the canvass of the
Special Municipal Election to be held is ordered to be made by
the City Clerk.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall complete the
canvass of the election prior to OCTOBER 13, 1987 and shall
certify the results to the City Council on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13,
1987.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the
book of original resolutions.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of September,
1987.
