CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. NOVEMBER 17, 1937. 1:00 o'clock, P. M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular adjourned session at the above time
and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Strohmeier, Roll call.
McIntire, Arnold, Chester, Carr and City Clerk.
Absent: City Attorney.
An invitation to attend the League of California Communication read
Municipalities dinner at Beverly Hills was read and ordered placed
and ordered placed on file, on file.
A request for refund on Soldier's Exemption
was presented by Anna M. Sharp.
Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by Mrs. Sharp's
Councilman Chester that the City Clerk be request for a

The matterof Fire Insurance on the Fleet was Bids on Fire
discussed. Harry Owens appeared before the Insurance for
Council to explain the error in offering to Fleet, referred
insure the fire truck for $16,000 and said that to Audit and
his bid now offers to cover the truck for Finance Committee.
$6,000.
The bids offered are as follows:

' On the basis of the present schedule coverage
with insurance valuation as indicated in our
letter of November 15, the renewal premium
will be $30.89 .

Fire and Theft on City Fleet - $ 51.53
Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that the bids be referred
to the Audit and Finance Committee to report
back.

Jack Pierce appeared before the Council and

Councilman Chester offered a Resolution
entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY RESOLUTION NO.
OF AZUSA DECLARING AND DETERMINING THAT CERTAIN 1543 ADOPTED.
PROPERTY HERETOFORE DEEDED TO SAID CITY BE SET
ASIDE FOR STREET PURPOSES AND DESIGNATING THE
NAME BY WHICH SAID STREET SHALL BE CALLED.

Councilman Chester offered a Resolution
entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC NECESSITY RESOLUTION NO.
AND CONVENIENCE REQUIRE THAT VERNON AVENUE, 1544 ADOPTED.
TWELFTH STREET AND SECOND STREET WITHIN SAID
CITY BE IMPROVED FROM FUNDS ALLOCATED BY LOS
ANGELES COUNTY OUT OF ITS SHARE OF MONEYS
COLLECTED FROM THE LEVY OF TAXES ON MOTOR
VEHICLE FUEL AND DISTRIBUTED TO SAID COUNTY
BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR THE 1937-1938
FISCAL YEAR.

Councilman Strohmeier that this Resolution be
adopted as read and numbered Resolution No.
1544.

Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by City Engineer
Councilman Chester that City Engineer Paul E. Paul Kressly to
Kressly be instructed to contact the Pacific contact Pacific
Electric Railway Company with regard to the Electric Railway
' construction of a culvert under their tracks Company.

Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that the following bill
be allowed and a warrant ordered drawn upon
the Treasury for the same.
