RESOLUTION NO. 8370
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA APPROVING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A DRUG
ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND AND THE DESIGNATION OF
AUTHORIZED SIGNATURES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined a need to
establish a Drug Enforcement Trust Fund to account for assets
seized and forfeited to the City of Azusa during drug enforcement
investigations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the
transfer of funds or encumbrances upon said Drug Enforcement
Trust Fund shall require two signatures. The two signatures
shall consist of one from the Police Department and one from the
City Treasurer's office.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa
resolves that:
SECTION 1. That the City of Azusa approves the
establishment of a Drug Enforcement Trust Fund.
SECTION 2. Transfer of funds or encumbrances upon said
Drug Enforcement Trust Fund shall require two signatures. The
two authorized signatures shall consist of one from the Police
Department and one from the City Treasurer's office.
SECTION 3. A revenue account titled "Drug Enforcement
Seizure" will be established in the General Fund for recording
receipt of money reimbursed from the trust account. Pursuant to
Section 53647(b) of the Government Code, and interest earned by
the trust account shall be credited to the trust accout.
The authorizing agent from the Police Department shall
be the Chief of Police or his designee. The authorizing agent
from the City Treasurer's office shall be the City Treasurer or
his designee.
