A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA NAMING THE AZUSA CITY LIBRARY
AUDITORIUM IN HONOR OF LYDIA WHEELEHAN
WHEREAS, LYDIA "LADDIE" WHEELEBAN possessed all the attributes of the ideal
caring person, the one who cheerfully takes on responsibility, who
willingly accepts others' problems, and once begun never leaves a task
undone, and
WHEREAS, after having left to the City a lifetime of service which she considered
a labor of love, she richly merits an enduring Memorial, and
WHEREAS, since the main municipal focus of her devoted efforts was its
cultural/intellectual resource, THE CITY LIBRARY, it is only rightly
fitting that some area of its function be designated as a Monument to
the Memory of One who contributed so much to it during its development,
growth and fruition as a Leading Library.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA unites in this
action to perpetuate "LADDIE" in the very heart of our City by naming the Library Auditorium
as the
LYDIA WHEELEHAN
MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM
in this way her commitment to the excellence of our City Library shall be with us all for
as long as our City and its Library exist.
