HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 8366RESOLUTION NO. 8366 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA NAMING THE AZUSA CITY LIBRARY AUDITORIUM IN HONOR OF LYDIA WHEELEHAN WHEREAS, LYDIA "LADDIE" WHEELEBAN possessed all the attributes of the ideal caring person, the one who cheerfully takes on responsibility, who willingly accepts others' problems, and once begun never leaves a task undone, and WHEREAS, after having left to the City a lifetime of service which she considered a labor of love, she richly merits an enduring Memorial, and WHEREAS, since the main municipal focus of her devoted efforts was its cultural/intellectual resource, THE CITY LIBRARY, it is only rightly fitting that some area of its function be designated as a Monument to the Memory of One who contributed so much to it during its development, growth and fruition as a Leading Library. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA unites in this action to perpetuate "LADDIE" in the very heart of our City by naming the Library Auditorium as the LYDIA WHEELEHAN MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM in this way her commitment to the excellence of our City Library shall be with us all for as long as our City and its Library exist. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 1st day of February, 1988. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 1st day of February, 1988, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: CITY CLE AVILA, CRUZ, LATTA, MOSES NONE COOK
