HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 8397RESOLUTION NO. 8397 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA CERTIFYING THE NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR CODE AMENDMENT NO. 158, AMENDING THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING PLANNING COMMISSION RULES AND REGULATIONS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby find, determine and declare that: A. An Initial Study of Environmental Impact and a Negative Declaration have been prepared for the Amendment to the Azusa Municipal Code regarding Planning Commission Rules and Regulations (Code Amendment No. 158) (hereafter "Project") in accordance with the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act and the State CEQA Guidelines; B. A duly noticed public hearing was held by the Planning Commission for the City of Azusa on the recommended amendment on the 17th day of February, 1988, and by the City Council of the City of Azusa on the 7th day of March, 1988, at which times evidence was heard on the proposed Project and the Negative Declaration; C. Prior to approving the Project the City Council of the City of Azusa considered the Initial Study of Environmental Impact and the Negative Declaration together with any comments received during the public review process; D. On the basis of this review, there is no substantial evidence that the project will have a significant adverse effect upon the environment. SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Azusa hereby certifies and approves the Negative Declaration for the Project, a copy of which Negative Declaration is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and by this reference incorporated herein, and further determines that the Negative Declaration shall be filed with the County Clerk of the County of Los Angeles in the manner required by law. A copy of the initial study for the Planning Department projects will be in the Planning Department and the Public Library. Comments from the public on the projects may be made, in writing, to the respective department directors or at the public hearings on the project. I find that although the proposed project could have a significant effect on the environment, there will not be a significant effect in this case because the mitigation measures described on an attached sheet have been added to the project. A NEGATIVE DECLARATION WILL BE PREPARED. I find the proposed on the environment REPORT is required.
