HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 84850 0 RESOLUTION NO. 8485 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REVISING THE SPECIFICATIONS AND SALARY FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF UTILITY YARD OFFICE ASSISTANT AND TITLE CHANGE TO UTILITY YARD OFFICE/METER TEST ASSISTANT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The title for Utility Yard Office Assistant shall be changed to Utility Yard Office/Meter Test Assistant. SECTION 2. The class specifications of Utility Yard Office/Meter Test Assistant are hereby adopted in its entirety in accordance with Exhibit A attached and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 3. The salary for Utility Yard Office/Meter Test Assistant be established at range 181, $2,101.65 - $2,554.56 per month. ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS lst day of August, 1988 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof on the 1st day of August, 1988, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: AVILA, STEMRICH, NARANJO, LATTA, MOSES NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE CITY CLERK Date Adopted: CITY OF AZUSA UTILITY YARD OFFICE/METER TEST ASSISTANT (Exhibit A) DEFINITION To maintain and operate a utility stores facility stocking a variety of specialized materials, supplies, parts and equipment of the Light and Water Department, and to assist the Meter Test Technician as needed. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED General supervision is provided by the Electric Utility Superintendent, but will also work under the direction of the Meter Test Technician as needed. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Independently receive, order, stock and issue supplies, materials and parts. Keep payroll records for Light and Water Department field personnel. Relieve Purchasing Assistant in main City warehouse during vacation, sick leave, etc. May assist in the preparation of specifications for materials and equipment used by the electric utility; locate sources and assist in evaluating the products offered. Check shipments for condition, shortage and discrepancies, and prepare reports. Issue tools and supplies. Maintain control logs on gasoline issued from City Yard. Maintain stock records; conduct periodic inventory and prepare inventory reports. Maintain an inventory of major equipment installed, including such items as electric meters, high line poles and transformers; sampling of equipment oil for PCB compliance and maintain accurate records of same. Operate storeroom equipment, including forklift; stock shelves, ability to Page 1 of 2 0 0 CITY OF AZUSA, UTILITY YARD OFFICE/METER TEST ASSISTANT (continued) lift and move moderately heavy equipment up to 100 pounds without benefit of machinery. May contact local vendors to obtain best price for emergency items not in stock and make emergency purchases of parts and materials. Prepare summary reports as needed. Perform general housekeeping of yard office, including washing and waxing floors, maintaining clean and safe workshop, emptying trash and sweeping daily. May be required to work as Line Mechanic Helper when needed. Perform related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Storekeeping and inventory methods and procedures. Nomenclature, grades and classifications of a variety of supplies and materials used in an electric utility. Operation and maintenance of stockroom and office equipment, including typewriter and computer terminal. Ability to: Maintain records. Perform work in lifting and moving stock. Operate stockroom and office equipment. Operate a forklift. Experience and Education Any combination of experience and education which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: One year experience as a Line Mechanic Helper or similar level position, supplemented by one year experience in storekeeping and inventory work. Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. License or Certificate Possession of a valid California driver's license. Page 2 of 2
