HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 86070 0 RESOLUTION NO. 8607 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA CERTIFYING THE NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE - CODE AMENDMENT NO. 162 - CONDITIONING USE PERMITS FOR EXISTING BARS AND COCKTAIL LOUNGES WHEREAS, an Initial Study of Environmental Impact and a Negative Declaration have been prepared for an amendment to the azusa municipal code - code amendment no. 162 - conditioning use permits for existing bars and cocktail lounges (hereinafter "Project") in accordance with the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act and the State CEQA Guidelines; WHEREAS, a duly -noticed public hearing was held by the Planning Commission for the City of Azusa on the 22 of February, 1989, and the City Council of the City of Azusa on the 3rd day of April, 1989 at which times evidence was heard on the proposed Project and Negative Declaration; WHEREAS, prior to approving the Project the City Council of the City of Azusa considered the Initial Study of Environmental Impact and the Negative Declaration together with any comments received during the public review process; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa hereby finds and determines that on the basis of the Initial Study and any comments received in the public review process, there is no substantial evidence that the Project will have a significant adverse effect upon the environment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA that the Negative Declaration for the Project, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and by this reference incorporated herein, is hereby certified and approved and determined that this Negative Declaration shall be filed with the County Clerk of the County of Los Angeles. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 17thday of April r 1989. Proposed code amendment will require existing bars and cocktail lounges which have not received previous zoning approval to obtain conditional use permits for their continued operation. 14.b. Security provisions on-site will be reviewed under the conditional use permit process, possibly reducing need for police services to these bars and cocktail lounges. IV.
