In the forefront of these, since 1964, has been the Los Angeles County MUSIC CENTER, a pristinely shining symbol of the County of the City of the Angels; it seems to embody, not brooding massiveness, but rather an airy all encompassing joyous paean of triumph, which marks the successful culmination of the struggle of our brash western spirit to achieve a true expression of itself in the arts. It visually, silently, communicates to us all the enduring truth of what the poet, Joseph Addison, wrote in the seventeenth century, that music is ....... All of heaven we have below". NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Azusa, on the occasion of the celebration marking the 25th Anniversary of the LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSIC CENTER, unites in honoring all who had the vision and perseverence to bring to us this beautiful, enduring monument to music; may it forever stand as a beacon directing humanity to its universally understood language uniting us in a harmonic alliance of kindred appreciation.
