A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
ESTABLISHING A NEW CLASSIFICATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE
ANALYST AND ESTABLISHING A SALARY THEREFOR.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The class specifications of Administrative
Analyst are hereby adopted in its entirety in accordance with
Exhibit A attached and incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The classification of Administrative Analyst is
established at Range 4192 ($2477.12 - $3010.96 per month).
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 21st day of December, 1989.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a adjourned
regular meeting thereof on the 21st day of December, 1989, by the

ADMINISTRATIVE ANALYST

To perform analytical, technical, and selected administrative
work; conduct various studies and research projects; write a
variety of reports requiring independent research, analysis, and
conclusion; and perform other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED
Direction is provided by the City Administrator and may include
Council -related projects. Assignments may include direct and/or
indirect supervision of clerical positions.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Performs a variety of administrative, research, and technical
assignments.
Compiles, analyzes, and interprets descriptive and statistical
data.
Conducts special studies of organizational policies, systems,
procedures, practices, and other matters relating to departmental
programs and management policies.
Participates in the preparation and monitoring of the City or
department budget by coordinating related activities and
compiling, reviewing, and analyzing requests and justifications.
Interfaces with other department and outside agencies in
exchanging information and coordinating activities.
May attend meetings of boards or commissions and make
presentations or respond to questions regarding projects.
Will attend meetings of the Cultural and Historical Landmark
Commission and act as administrative liaison.
May participate as a team leader or member of City task forces
organized to address problems or issues related to governmental
activities or community concerns.
May supervise the personnel and activities of an assigned
administrative area.
Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of•
Working knowledge of the organization, operations, and
problems of municipal government; the theories, principles,
and methods of public administration.
Ability to•
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; relate
effectively and courteously with City staff and public and
private representatives; compile, prepare, and present
clear, comprehensive, well organized reports; efficiently
organize and schedule work projects and meet established
deadlines.
Experience and Education
Any combination of experience and education that would
likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is
qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and
abilities would be:
Education•
Graduation from a four-year college or university with
a major in public administration, political science,
business administration, or a closely related field.
A master's degree is desirable.
Experience•
Two years of experience working for a municipal or
county government in the capacity of an administrative
assistant, analyst, or similar position is desirable.
License
Possession of a valid California Class 3 Driver's License.
