Present at roll call: Councilmen: Dickerson, Roll call. Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr, City Attorney and City Clerk. The minutes of the last regular meeting of Minutes approved. March 7, 1938 were read and approved as read. Communications from E. M. Templeman, City of Communications Pasadena, J. C. Iiuehe and George N. Hale read and ordered were read and ordered placed on file, placed on file. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Mayor Carr that J. C. Muehe be instructed to renew J. C. Muehe to policy on the fire hall, expiration date to be renew jAicy. November 2, 1938. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None. A request to use the Slauson 11emorial Plunge City Schools during the month of May and first week in granted per - June, was presented by George N. Hale, mission to use Superintendent of Azusa City Schools, plunge. Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by Councilman McIntire that the Azusa City Schools be granted permission to use the plunge pro- viding they assume all responsibility and expense. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None. ' Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Mayor authorized Councilman McIntire that the Mayor be in- to sign contracts. strutted to sign duplicate copies of a con- tract between the City of Azusa and the Standard Oil Company. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by Councilman Dickerson that the Mayor be in- structed to sign a contract between the City of Azusa and the General Electric Company. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by City Clerk Councilman McIntire that the City Clerk be instructed to instructed to write the Pacific Electric write Pacific Railway Company requesting them to route Electric Company. the Passenger Busos, operating between Glendora and Monrovia, so that they will make regular stops at the Pacific Electric Depot. This'action to be taken in response to numerous comments made by Azusa citizens. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman McIntire offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY RESOLUTION NO. OF AZUSA TRANSFERRING TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS 1555 ADOPTED. Councilman Strohmeier offered a Resolution entitled: ' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING GRANT DEED OF THE CONTRACT MATER COMPANY OF AZUSA TO SAID CITY AND DIRECTING THAT SATE BE RECORDED. Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by Councilman Dickerson that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No.1556. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Arnold offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BILL OF SALE OF THE CONTRACT WATER COMPANY OF AZUSA TO SAID CITY AND DIRECTING THAT SAA2 BE RECORDED. Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by Councilman Strohmeier that this Resolution be ' adopted as read and numbered Resolution No.1557. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved and carried that the City Clerk be authorized to write Supervisor Herbert C. Legg, informing him that there are 373 un- employed men registered with the Local Stabilization Bureau vrnich is a branch of the County Bureau and that very few of these men have received work orders; that too large a percentage of out -of -town -labor is being employed on local flood control projects and that the unemployed men of Azusa are protest- ing this action. Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by Councilman Dickerson that the City of Glendora be granted permission to use the City grader in accordance with conditions set forth in Engineer Kressly's letter, provided the time does not conflict with the City's program for street improvement. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by Councilman Dickerson that the following requisitions be allowed: 1040 -1041 -1042- 1043-1044-1045-1046-1047-1048-1049- 1952-1953-1954-1955. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None. RESOLUTION NO. 1556 ADOPTED. RESOLUTION NO. 1557 ADOPTED.
