RESOLUTION NO. 8843
•
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, COMMENDING BRUCE LATTA FOR HIS SERVICES TO THE CITY.
WHEREAS, WE, who inhabit this earth, it may be said, have been elected to serve
an indeterminate term of office, in which we have no choice, in a post
for which we did not solicit. From this office, we are all summarily
recalled, and
WHEREAS, How we fill this span of time is left to circumstance and the individual:
that is, to actively participate in the bitter-sweet struggle or to
lead the sedantary vicarious existence of a spectator. To have lived
and lost rather than never to have lived at all: that is "LIFE", as
opposed to purposeless existence; to savor the thrills of victory and
not shrink from the agonies of defeat we experience as we proceed through
the passage of mortal time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Azusa, unites in casting
aside whatever parochial political differences may exist, and as fellow Americans recognize
MR. BRUCE LATTA
commending him for the years of service he freely gave to his City. Often, in the heat
of election activity, very important national as well as personal interests are forgotten.
Now that electioneering has subsided, let us remember that we are fellow citizens of the
greatest nation on this planet; as such, let there be no divisions permitted to divide us.
