The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr, City Attorney and City Clerk. The minutes of the last regular meeting of March 21, 1938 were read and approved as read. Communications from the following were read: ' Los Angeles County Flood Control, Pacific Electric Railway Company, League of California Municipalities, C. H. Howell, Chief Engineer, Los Angeles County Flood Control. Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by Councilman Arnold and duly carried that same be placed on file. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman McIntire that the Mayor be author- ized to sign a contract between the City of Azusa and The Texas Company. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Arnold offered an Ordinance entitled: Roll call. Minutes approved. Communications read and ordered placed on file. Mayor authorized to sign agreement between Texas Co. and City of Azusa. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING Ordinance read SCHEDULE D -1-B1 AND SCHEDULE D -1-B2 OF for first time. ORDINANCE NO. 328 OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, ENTITLED IIAN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL ' OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ESTABLISHING RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 307 AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.° to be placed on its first reading. This Ordinance was then read. Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by Energy rates Councilman Arnold that this Ordinance be referred to City referred to the City Attorney for checking Attorney and rates and schedule proposed. Superintendent Carried by the following vote of the Council: of Light and Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, Water for check - McIntire, Arnold, Carr. ing. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by Councilman Dickerson that the City Attorney be instructed to check rates in the pro- posed Ordinance with the Superintendent of Light and Water. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr, ' Noes: None. Absent: None. It was agreed that the following business men Business men be granted the City business for the month given City of April: business Doctor - Dr. Wheatley, First Aid, Etc. - Richter's Drug Store Garage - Ford Garage Grease Jobs - Richfield Station ( R. Pettyjohn) Restaurant - C'& C Cafe Hardware - Spriggs Brothers Hardware Limber - Williams Lumber Yard. Tires - C. H. Howard Paint - E. M. Templeman 378 N MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL. APRIL 4, 1938. 7:30 P. M. Mr. Morgan discussed, with the Council, the matter of bringing into Azusa frame houses now in the San Gabriel Canyon. No action taken. Moved by Councilman Dickerson, seconded by Councilman Strohmeier that the following requisitions be allowed: 1956 -1957 -1958 -1959 -1960-1961-1962-1963-1964- 1965-1966-1967-1968-1969-1970-1971. Carried by the following vote of the Council: ' Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr. Noes : None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Strohmeier that the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Dickerson, Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None.
