HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 8816RESOLUTION NO. 8816 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REVISING CIVIL SERVICE RULES 5.6.4 AND 5.7.5. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Civil Service Rule 5.6.4. is revised to read as follows: 115.6.4 - Removal of Names from List. The name of any person appearing on an employment, rehire, reinstatement, or promotional list shall be removed if: a. The eligible is appointed to the position. b. The eligible requests that his/her name be removed. c. The eligible is unwilling or unable to accept appointment. d. The eligible fails to respond to a notice of inquiry regarding availability of employment within ten (10) calendar days of mailing of the notice to the last known address of the eligible. e. After investigation and interview, the department head, in consultation with the Human Resources Office, determines that the eligible does not possess the necessary qualifications and skills for the position. The person affected shall be notified of the removal of his/her name by a notice mailed to the last known address. The names of persons on promotional employment lists who resign from service shall automatically be removed from such lists." SECTION 1. Civil Service Rule 5.7.5. is revised to read as follows: 115.7.5. -- Appointment After interview and investigation, the department head shall select an applicant from those certified for appointment unless in his or her determination and upon consultation with the Human Resources office, one or more of the candidates on the eligible list fails to possess the necessary qualifications for the position. Any applicant selected by the department head shall be subject to the approval of the City Council. The Human Resources Office shall be notified immediately by the department head of the individual selected. The person recommended to the City Council for appointment shall appear for a required medical examination, complete any forms, and receive such briefings as may be required by the Human Resources Office on or before the date of appointment. An applicant who fails to accept the appointment or to appear for duty within such period of time as the department head and Human Resources Office prescribe shall be deemed to have declined the appointment." 0 0 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REVISING CIVIL SERVICE RULES 5.6.4 AND 5.7.5.
