HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 88910 0 RESOLUTION NO. 8891 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING LLOYD J. WOOD FOR HIS SERVICES TO THE CITY. WHEREAS, LLOYD J. WOOD is a man driven by a compulsion for excellence. This principle is evident in all his efforts. There is no need to invent or amplify, and WHEREAS, this paradigmatic man, who first entered into City employment as Chief of Police on June 1, 1981, served as such until March 19, 1984, when he additionally became our City Administrator. He served in these dual capacities until June 2, 1987, when he relinquished the post of City Administrator, and continued as Chief of Police until this date, July 16, 1990, and WHEREAS, the yeoman service he has provided requires no embellishment. To paraphrase the above, there is need only to proudly point and state, "ECCE HOMO", (BEHOLD THE MAN); self- sufficient unto himself, there is no need for mere frippery, Lloyd J. Wood has no need for such. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Azusa, as one, and on behalf of all the residents of this community, commends LLOYD J. WOOD for his key guidance and assistance during a very difficult period. His departure is creating a gap which shall be nearly impossible to bridge. Our loss, verily, is Pomona's gain. To a man, this City Council salutes him and extends its fondest best wishes for a future career as crowned with success as it has heretofore been. 1990. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of July, I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa, at a regular meeting there, held on the 16th day of July, 1990, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: DANCLEIS, FToARIcH, NARANJO, ALEXANDER, MOSES NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
