RESOLUTION NO. 91-C115
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA ESTABLISHING A NEW CLASSIFICATION OF
GRANT ACCOUNTING OFFICER AND ESTABLISHING A
SALARY THEREFOR.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The class specifications of Grant
Accounting Officer are hereby adopted in its entirety in
accordance with Exhibit A-1 attached and incorporated herein by
reference.
SECTION 2. The classification of Grant Accounting
Officer is established at $3,750 per month.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of August, 1991.

GRANT ACCOUNTING OFFICER
To plan, organize, coordinate and prepare

Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies,
and priorities relating to the accounting, budgeting, and
financial management activities of the Grant Programs.
Reviews the work of others as assigned.
Assists in setting up and maintaining journals, ledgers and
supporting financial records; originates journal entries recorded
in the accounting system.
Develops and administers accounting and budget control systems as
necessary to comply with accounting procedures, laws, ordinances
and other regulations.
Participates in the preparation of various financial statements
and reports including reports to other governmental and grant
funding agencies.
Assists in analyzing the financial information needs of City
departments and in development of financial systems to fill those
needs.
Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of general and municipal government
accounting and auditing; Principles and practices of
budgeting; Automated general ledger and finance systems and
practices; micro -computer spreadsheet and database use;
Laws regulating public finance and fiscal operations;
Modern office practice, procedures, methods and equipment.

Ability to:
Analyze and interpret financial and accounting records.
Prepare complex financial statements, reports and analyses.
Design and install new and improved accounting and record
keeping systems; Establish and maintain effective working
relationships with others; Communicate clearly and
concisely, orally and in writing; Assist with training of
professional, technical and clerical personnel.
Experience and Education
Any combination of experience and education that would
likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is
qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and
abilities would be:
ExRerience: Five years of increasingly responsible
experience in governmental accounting or auditing work.
Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an
accredited college or university with major coursework
in accounting.
License A CPA Certificate is preferred; The City pays an
additional $100 per month for this certificate.
Possession of a valid California Class 3 Driver's License.
