A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA ESTABLISHING A NEW CLASSIFICATION OF
ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNICIAN AND ESTABLISHING A
SALARY THEREFOR.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The class specifications of Administrative
Technician are hereby adopted in its entirety in accordance with
Exhibit A-1 attached and incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The classification of Administrative
Technician is established as Range 4174, $2,184.80-$2,655.67 per
month.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly

CITY OF AZUSA
ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNICIAN
To perform technical accounting and administrative work in the
preparation, maintenance, and processing of accounting related
data.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
The Administrative Technician class is distinguished from classes
in the Administrative Clerk and Secretary series by the
difficulty and complexity of the work performed including
assisting with the preparation of the annual budget;
administration of the Cafeteria Benefit Plan including health,
dental, life, and long term disability; records management;
maintenance of travel records for all City Council members.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED
Direction is provided by the Director of Finance. Indirect
supervision may be received from middle level management.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are limited to the
following:
Reconcile bank statements.
Prepare and maintain complex accounting clerical records.
Participate in the preparation of financial statements,
schedules, and other statistical and financial reports.
Examine, reconcile, balance and adjust accounting and
administrative records. Assist in preparing the payroll.
Administer the Cafeteria Benefit Program.
Prepare daily cash receipts for input into the Finance system.
Assist in preparation of the annual budget.
Records management for the Finance Department.
Check and record travel expenses for all City Council members.
Prepare monthly summary of revenues and expenditures for
distribution to the City Council.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of financial record keeping.
Basic accounting principles.
Modern office procedures and equipment.
Ability to:
Understand and interpret principles, laws, and procedures
involved in fiscal record keeping, accounting, and
administrative functions.
Prepare financial reports and maintain ledgers and journals.
Analyze data and draw sound conclusions.
Reconcile bank statements.
Operate calculator quickly and accurately.
Operate a computer terminal sufficiently similar to that
utilized by the City of Azusa.
Experience and Education
Any combination of experience and education that would
likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is
qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and
abilities would be:
Experience•
Three years of increasingly responsible experience in
the maintenance of financial, fiscal and related
statistical records.
Education•
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade including
or supplemented by courses in accounting and business
practices.
License
Possession of a valid California Class 3 Driver's License.
