HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 91-C104RESOLUTION NO. 91-C104 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ESTABLISHING A NEW CLASSIFICATION OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEER AND ESTABLISHING A SALARY THEREFOR. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The class specifications of Electrical Engineer are hereby adopted in its entirety in accordance with Exhibit A attached and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2. The classification of Electrical Engineer is established at Range 5243, $4,282 - $5,205 per month. ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 5th day of August, 1991. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof on the 5th day of August, 1991, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: / , / C ..r r STEMRICH, NARANJO, ALEXANDER, MOSES NONE DANGLEIS, CITY OF AZUSA " ELECTRICAL ENGINEER DEFINITION Under general direction, to perform 'responsible electric utility power' engineering in the areas of planning, engineering design, maintenance of electrical substation, and assist the Director of Utilities in.technical matters. , SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED Receives ,general supervision from the Director of Utilities and provides technical and.functional supervision over other utility personnel. EXAMPLE`OF DUTIES May'includle, but are not limited to, the following:,• Prepares plans, specifications and estimates for various complex electrical utility installations; performs various studies including "protection' coordination, system planning and load forecasting;` conducts feasibility studies of the application of new equipment, and recommends modification to construction standards; assists in preparing long-range capital improvement programs;- attends meetings as director, and.prepares a variety of reports. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge- of: the application of engineering principles to ,utility power distribution system. Ability -to: use -PC to assemble and correlate data for technical, reports; ability to communicate orally and in writing clearly and concisely. Education and Experience: Any combination of experience and education that'would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: three years of professional experience in utility power system engineering. Education: Graduation from an accredited college with a'B.S: degree in Electrical Engineering; 1 CITY OF AZUSA, ELAICAL ENGINEER Certificates and License: Registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer in the State of California is desirable. Possession of a valid California Class 3 Driver's License. 2
