HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 91-C1600 0 RESOLUTION NO. 91-C160 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REVISING THE CLASS SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF: LINE MECHANIC HELPER, APPRENTICE LINE MECHANIC, LINE MECHANIC, LINE MECHANIC CREW SUPERVISOR AND LINE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The classificiation specifications of Line Mechanic Helper, Apprentice Line Mechanic, Line Mechanic, Line Mechanic Crew Supervisor and Line Mechanic Supervisor are hereby amended in its entirety in accordance with Exhibit A attached and incorporated herein by reference. ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 4th day of November, 1991. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: one year of experience in the use of tools and equipment in constructing and maintaining electrical transmission and distribution lines or related experience. License and Certificates Possession of a valid California Class "A" Driver's License, with Hazardous Waste and Air Brake Endorsements, or ability to obtain during probationary period. Tools, equipment and methods employed in the construction and maintenance of electrical transmission and distribution lines. Necessary precautions to be taken in working with high voltage lines. Fundamental safety regulations and first aid. Ability to: Climb poles and perform work on the pole under all weather conditions. Maintain harmonious relations with other employees. Work alone and with others safely. Follow oral and written directions. Experience and Education Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Two years of experience in electrical and maintenance and repair work as a Line Mechanic Helper, or one year as an Apprentice Line Mechanic. Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Identify system defects and recommend appropriate corrective action. Experience and Education Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: completion of a recognized apprenticeship in power line mechanic work. License and Certificate Possession of a valid California Class "A" unrestricted Driver's License, with Hazardous Waste and Air Brake Endorsements, or ability to obtain during probationary period. 3 1 { e' Ll CITY OF AZUSA, Line Mechanic Crew Supervisor (Continued) QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Approved methods, materials and tools used in electrical underground or overhead construction, maintenance or repair work. Principles of electrical theory as applied to electric circuits and wiring systems, and ability to apply this knowledge to specific work problems. Occupational hazards and standard safety precautions necessary in work. Principles and practices of supervision, training and performance evaluation. Ability to: Assign and layout the work of skilled and semi -skilled workers. Effectively instruct apprentices in the proper methods, procedures and safety precautions of the work. Understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions, and to read and interpret sketches and blueprints. Identify electrical system defects and recommend appropriate corrective action. Supervise, train and evaluate subordinates. Experience and Education Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
