The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Roll call. Dickerson, Strohmeier, Carr, Arnold., -City Attorney Tscharner, Absent: City Clerk and City Attorney Miller. The minutes of the regular meeting of August Minutes approved. 24 and the Special Session of August 29, 1938 were read and approved as read. Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by Councilman Carr that the City Treasurer be authorized and directed to renew City Deposits under Contract with the First National Bank of Azusa for one year, expiration date September S. 1939. Councilman Strohmeier offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, LEVYING TAXES AIM FIXING THE TAX RATE OF ALL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY FOR ALL MUNICIPAL PURPOSES AND TO PAY THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS THEREOF AND INTEREST ON THE SAME FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1938-1939. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman Owens that this Resolution be ' adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1585. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, RESOLUTION NO. TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF TWO THOUSAND NINE 1586 ADOPTED. Councilman Carr offered an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING ' SCHEDULE D -1-B1 AND SCHEDULE D -1-B2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 328 OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, ENTITLED n AND ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ESTABLISHING RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR ELECTRICAL SERVICE WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 307 AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. to be placed upon its second reading. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman Strohmeier that the following business men be awarded the City business for the month of September, 1938. Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by Councilman Dickerson that the matter of checking the condition of the brush land, located in the North West section of the City, used by the Los Angeles County Flood Control for spreading grounds, be referred to the Police Department and the Sanitation Committee. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Dickerson, Strohmeier, Carr, Arnold. Noes:, None. Absent: None. ORDINANCE N0, 336 ADOPTED. Business men. After discussion it was referred to the City Attorney. It was duly moved and carried that the City Clerk be instructed to write Mrs.L. L. Russell explaining that the Council had received several complaints on the collection of garbage where cans had been damaged and the Collector failed to replace the lids. City Clerk to write Mrs. L. L. Russell on Garbage Collect- ion complaints.
