HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 93-C041RESOLUTION NO. 93-C41 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE AZUSA GENERAL PLAN (GPA -93-1) IN CONNECTION WITH ZONE CHANGE NO Z-93-1 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa had previously adopted Urgency Ordinance Nos.92-011 and 92-013 enacting and extending a moratorium on the construction of multi -family residential buildings in the city and -directing City staff to prepare a study analyzing the existing zoning and land use patterns in Azusa, and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission reviewed this study and adopted Resolution No. 93-16 recommending that the City Council make changes to the Land Use Element of the Azusa General Plan that reflect the findings of the prepared zoning study, and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the proposed amendment to the Azusa General Plan at a duly noticed public hearing held on March 15, 1993, and WHEREAS, the adoption•of General Plan Amendment No. GPA -93-1 is intended to make the land use designations contained within the Land Use Element of the Azusa General Plan more closely reflect the existing and projected land uses for the parcels examined by the zoning study of all P and R3 zoned properties in the city. NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The land use designation contained within the Land Use Element of the Azusa General Plan is hereby changed from Central Business. District to High Density Residential for the following described properties: A. The properties located on the west side of Alameda Avenue from 501 to 627 North Alameda Avenue; B. The properties located on the east side of Alameda Avenue from 612 to 628 North Alameda Avenue; C. The properties located at on the east side of Angeleno Angeleno Avenue; 629 North Angeleno Avenue and Avenue from 602 to 634 North D. The properties, located at 845, 849, 905 and 907 North Alameda Avenue and 118 East Ninth Street. SECTION 2. Pursuant to the State CEQA guidelines, a negative declaration, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, has been prepared and reviewed, finding that the proposed project could not have a significant effect on the environment. The City Council hereby certifies said negative declaration, with the proviso that the mitigation measures, if any, recommended in the initial study, be implemented. SECTION 3.
