RESOLUTION NO. 96-C89
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA APPROVING A JOINT
APPLICATION WITH CITY OF DUARTE FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE LOS
ANGELES COUNTY REGIONAL PARK AND OPEN SPACE DISTRICT TRAIL
ACQUISITION & DEVELOPMENT COMPETITIVE GRANT PROGRAM FOR FISH
CANYON FALLS TRAIL
WHEREAS, the people of the County of Los Angeles on November 3, 1992,
enacted Los Angeles County Proposition A, Safe Neighborhood Parks, Gang Prevention,
Tree -Planing, Senior and Youth Recreation, Beaches and Wildlife Protection (the
Proposition), which, among other uses, provides funds to public agencies and nonprofit
organizations in the County for the purpose of acquiring and developing land and rights-of-
way for walking, hiking, horse, bicycle and handicapped access trails, and
WHEREAS, the Proposition also created the Los Angeles County Regional Park
and Open Space District (the District) to administer said funds, and
WHEREAS, Section 8.a.3.A has allocated funds for the acquisition and
development of land rights-of-way for walking, hiking, horse, bicycle and handicapped
access trails, and
WHEREAS, the District has set forth the necessary procedures governing
applications for grand funds under the Proposition, and
WHEREAS, the City of Azusa wishes to cooperate with the City of Duarte to
perform the above named project.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL HEREBY:
1. Approve the filing of a Joint Application with City of Duarte to apply for
Competitive Grant funds Section 8.a.3.A of the Proposition from the Los Angeles County
Regional Park and Open Space District for the above-named Project, and
2. Certifies the City of Azusa understands that it will be required to provide the
support or assistance for the above named Project as described in the application, and
3. Names City of Duarte to conduct all negotiations, and to execute and submit
all documents including, but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments,
payments requests and so forth, which may be necessary for the completion of the project
as described in the application, on behalf of both applicants.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 1st DAY OF JULY, 1996.

HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City
Council of the Cit of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 1 st day of July, 1996.
