The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper,
Malone, Owens, Strohmeier; Arnold, City
Attorney and City Clerk.
The minutes of the last regular meeting of
September 18, 1939 and the regular adjourned
meeting of September 25, 1939 were written and
mailed to each member of the City Council and
' to the City Attorney.
The Mayor announced there being no errors or
omissions the minutes would stand approved
as written.
A request, made by the Manager of the Life Pay-
ment Plan, to use the Auditorium on October
24, 1939 was read.
Moved and carried that same be granted.
Requests for the planting of trees in parkways
were made by Ralph Cook and Joe Williams.
Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by
Councilman Jumper that same be referred to
Councilman Owens, with power to act.
Carried by the following vote of the Council;
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Owens,
Strohmeier, Arnold.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
A note of appreciation for use of the Auditorium,
signed by Mae L. Snider, Pastor of Azusa Four-
square Church, was read and ordered placed
on file.
Councilman Strohmeier offered a Resolution
entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF FIFTEEN THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($15,000.) FRO14 THE LIGHT FUND TO
THE GENERAL FUND.
Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded by
Councilman Jumper that this Resolution be
adopted as read and numbered resolution No. 1628.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Owens,
Strohmoier, Arnold.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Councilman Strohmeier offered an Ordinance
entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA,
ADOPTING A BUILDING CODE TO REGULATE THE CON-
STRUCTION, ERECTION, ENLARGEMENT, RAZING,
' ALTERATION, REPAIRING, REMOVAL, MAINTENANCE,
MOVING, USE AND HEIGHT OF BUILDINGS OR
STRUCTURES IN THE SAID CITY OF AZUSA, AND
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
to be placed upon its second reading.
This Ordinance was then read.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by
Councilman Owens that this Ordinance be
adopted as read and numbered Ordinance No. 346.

REGULATING SANITARY PLUMBING AND HOUSE DRAINAGE ORDINANCE NO.
IN THE CITY OF AZUSA, AND PRESCRIBING THE 347 adopted.
CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH PLUMBING MAY BE CARRIED
ON THEREIN; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT THEREWITH.

CORPORATE, RELATING TO BUILDING, PLUMBING AND
ELECTRICAL INSPECTION WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA.

CAPITAL OUTLAYS BY SAID CITY.

cilman Jumper that this Resolution be adopted
as read and numbered Resolution No. 1630.

Councilman Malone reported 168 Palm Trees will Councilman Malone
be required to replace trees that have been reported on the
removed on certain streets, planting of Palm
trees.

Councilman Jumper that the purchase and replace-
ment of trees be referred to Councilman Malone
and Councilman Owens, with power to act.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Strohmeier, Arnold.

Absent: None.
Councilman Strohmeier reported on the progress
' made relative to an Easement for pipe line
under the Santa Fe Railroad on Angeleno
Avenue, also the Wilsford Crossing.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by
Councilman Malone and duly carried the
following requisition be allowed: 583.
Ivioved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by
Councilman Malone that the following bills be
allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the
Treasury for the same.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
