HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 96-C1880 0 RESOLUTION 96—C188 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL ACCOUNT TO PRESERVE HIGHWAY 39 IMPROVEMENT FUND FROM CALTRANS TO AZUSA AND TO DEDICATE IT SOLELY FOR UPGRADES ON AZUSA AND SAN GABRIEL AVENUES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa approved the Cooperative Agreement between the City and CalTrans to accept jurisdiction of Highway 39, from Arrow Highway to the 500 feet south of the post mile marker 17, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa has accepted $3,510,000 from CalTrans for improvements and upgrades on Azusa and San Gabriel Avenues within the relinquished limits, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa is intent on dedicating the total amount of $3,510,000 for improvements on the said roadways, NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The Highway transfer amount, $3,510,000, be placed in a special account and separate from general or other City funds. SECTION 2. The Highway transfer amount will be solely dedicated for improvements and upgrades on Azusa and San Gabriel Avenues from Arrow Highway to the 500 feet south of the post mile marker 17, within the relinquished limits of the Highway to be transferred to Azusa. SECTION 3. The said amount will not be pledged, nor held in reserve, to finance or secure bonds which are not directly related to improvements on Azusa and San Gabriel Avenues. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
