RESOLUTION NO. 96-C186
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
APPROVING CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATIONS FOR CITY
PLANNER, ENGINEERING ASSISTANT, RECREATION
SUPERINTENDENT, SENIOR SERVICES MANAGER,
TRANSPORTATION MANAGER, BUYER, POLICE ADMINISTRATIVE
SERVICES MANAGER, POLICE COMMUNICATIONS SUPERVISOR
AND SALARIES THEREFOR; AND RECLASSIFYING CERTAIN
EMPLOYEES.
WHEREAS, the Municipal Code of the City of Azusa and the Rules of the Civil
Service System of the City of Azusa state that the Personnel Board shall make
recommendations on the adoption or revision of the City's Position Classification Plan
and recommend appropriate compensation therefor; and
WHEREAS, the Rules of The Civil Service System of the City of Azusa state that
the purpose of the Classification Plan shall be to provide a complete and continuous
inventory of all classifications, to provide accurate specifications therefor and to ensure
that each position is allocated to the appropriate classification; and
WHEREAS, the Rules of the Civil Service System of the City of Azusa state that
when the duties of a position have changed materially, allocation of the position to a
more appropriate classification may be recommended by the Personnel Board; and
WHEREAS, the Personnel Board has reviewed and unanimously approved the
requests of various City department heads to revise certain position classification
specifications, to adjust the salary range of certain classifications, and/or to reclassify
certain employees; and
WHEREAS, notice of consideration of the proposed classification plan
amendments or revisions has been provided to employee organizations; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Code and the Rules state that the Personnel Board shall
appoint a Personnel Officer and that the salary therefor shall be set by Council upon
recommendation of the Personnel Board,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY:
1. Adopt the recommended revisions to the following classification
specifications and adjust the salaries and range/step assignments therefor
effective 7/1/96:
a. Classification Revisions and Salary Adjustments

• NRMM = Non -represented Middle Management
