RESOLUTION NO. 97-C116
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA,
ADOPTING THE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE ELEMENT
WHEREAS, Assembly Bills 939 and 1820 require that each City in California adopt a
Source Reduction and Recycling Element; and
WHEREAS, in August 1993, the preliminary draft elements were distributed to the
appropriate State and County agencies, and adjoining cities in compliance with regulatory
requirements; and
WHEREAS, on March 3, 1993, preliminary draft elements were reviewed by the Los
Angeles County Solid Waste Management Committee/Integrated Waste Management Task Force
and comments were received; and
WHEREAS, on August 3, 1993, the City Council held a duly advertised and notice public
hearing on the preliminary draft elements and opportunity was given to all persons present to speak;
and
WHEREAS, on August 15, 1994, the City Council held a duly advertised public hearing on
the Non -Disposal Facility Element and opportunity was given to all persons present to speak; and
WHEREAS, on September 2, 1994 and continued on October 3, 1994, the City Council held
a duly advertised and noticed public hearing on the proposed negative declaration and opportunity
was given to all person present to speak; and
WHEREAS, on October 3, 1994, the City Council adopted the source reduction and
recycling element; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Azusa hereby
adopts the Final Household Hazardous Waste Element.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council that said Final Element be delivered
to the State of California Integrated waste Management Board.
