The City Council of the City of Azusa met in Special Session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper, Roll call. Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, City Attorneys Tscharner and Miller and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Owens. The Notice of meeting and Officer's Affidavit Notice of Special of service were read as follows: Meeting. I TO VEOM IT MAY CONCERN: PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Azusa,. State of California, IS HEREBY CALLED to be held in the Council Chambers of said City on Thursday, February 1, 1940 at 7:30 P. M. for the purpose of receiving and considering petitions requesting the construction of a Sewerage Collection System and Sewage Treatment Plant in the City of Azusa and the taking of appropriate action thereon, also for the purpose of taking necessary action in the matter of acquisition of tax delin- quent properties located in Paramount Heights Tract and any other business that may rightfully come before the Council. Dated: January 31, 1940. ROY C. ARNOLD Mayor of the City of Azusa, I hereby certify that I received the attached "NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA" at 2:45 P. M. on the 31st day of January, 1940, and that I served the same on ' the hereinafter named persons, who are members of the City Council of the City of Azusa, at the time set after their respective names, by personally delivering to and leaving with said persons a true copy of the attached "NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF TIM CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA". Mr. Roger Dalton, President of the Azusa Chamber of Commerce, presented to Council seven petitions containing 226 signatures requesting the Council to take necessary steps for the construction and maintenance of a Sewerage Collection System and a Sewage Treatment Plant. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Bradshaw the petitions be referred to the City Clerk for checking with instructions to determine the acreage represented in said petitions and to report back at the next regular meeting of the Council. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. Mr. Dalton present- ed petitions.
