CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. FEBRUARY 19, 1940. 7:30 P. M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in.
regular session at the above time and place,
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper, Roll call.
Malone, Bradshaw, Owens, Arnold, City Attorney
Miller and -City Clerk.
Each member present having acknowledged receipt of
a written copy of the minutes of the regular meet-
ing of February 5, 19402 the Mayor asked if there Minutes,
' were any objections or corrections to said minutes.
There being none, the minutes of the meeting of
February 5, 1940 were unanimously approved.
The Clerk announced that she had receivedseven
sealed bids in answer to Notice calling for the
performance of certain work on portions of
Second Street, Third Street, Fourth Street and
Soldano Avenue in the City of Azusa.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Malone and duly carried the Bids be now Bids.

bids on the purchase of a parcel of land suit-
able for treatment and disposal of sewage.

Mrs, Kelly asked permission to open a Maternity
Hospital in Azusa.
Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Coun-
cilman Malone and duly carried that this matter
be referred to the local Planning Commission and
Mrs. Kelly instructed to appear before said Body.
Councilman Jumper offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, CALLING
A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID
CITY ON THE 9TH DAY OF APRIL, 1940, AND GIVING
A GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE VOTING PRECINCTS
AND LOCATION OF THE POLLING PLACES; FIXING THE
TIME THE POLLS SHALL BE OPEN; APPOINTING THE
ELECTION OFFICERS THEREFOR AND DIRECTING NOTICE
TO BE GIVEN OF SUCH ELECTION AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
