The City Council of the City of Azusa met in, regular adjourned session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Owens, Arnold, City Attorney Miller and City Clerk. The'Clerk announced that she had received 39 sealed proposals in answer to Notice calling for proposals to furnish materials, machinery, equipment and/or other things and appliances necessary in the construction of a Sewage Treatment Plant and sewerage system. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Owens, Arnold. Noes: None, Absent: None. Mr. Sitton of the Sitton Garage requested a portion of the City garage business. It was unanimously agreed that Mr. Sitton be given a share of the business in regular routine. The matter of a bond, issued in 1906 on Water Fund, having attached thereto unsigned coupons, was discussed. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Bradshaw the City Treasurer be authorized and instructed to call in this Bond for cancellation offering the owner the face value namely, $275.00 lus the interest coupons now due amounting to 16.50. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Owens, Arnold. Noes: None. Absent: None. Bids referred to City Enginner for checking. Mr. Sitton grant- ed a hart of the City garage business City Treasurer instructed to call in bond. A communication signed by the President of the Azusa Rock and Sand Company relative to material now stored on the proposed Sewage Treatment Plant Commurication Site, was read and ordered attached to and made from Azusa Rock a part of their Bid. & Sand Co. 6RAGY 369 .MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING.: MARCH 11, 1940. 7:30 P. A communication, signed by Cornelius Smith, It was duly moved and seconded that the City Secretary of the Azusa City Planning Commission, relative to the two Bids submitted on Feb. 19, 1940 by Vosburg Brothers, Inc. and the Azusa Communication Rock and Sand Company on the Sewage Treatment from Planning Plant site, was read. Commission and recommendation It was unanimously carried that this recommendation accepted. be accepted and placed on file. Site. It was duly moved and seconded that the City of Owens, Arnold. ' Azusa accept the Bid of the Azusa Rock and Sand Company for 5 acres, more or less, situated in Purchase of land Lot 47 of Sub. #2 Azusa Land & Water Company. for Disposal Plant Carried by the following vote of the Council: Site. Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, appointed committee Owens, Arnold. in escrow proceedings for the purchase of land Noes: None. Absent: None. A letter dated March 11, 1940, signed by Murray S. Vosburg for Vosburg Brothers, Inc. supplement- ing its bid heretofore submitted on Feb. 199 1940 was read. This letter was, upon motion duly made and carried, made a part of the bid originally submitted. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Owens that Council approve the action of Mayor Arnold. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Owens, Arnold. , Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Malone the following bills be allowed and Bills warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same. It was duly moved and seconded that the City accept the Bid of Vosburg Brothers, Inc. for 5 acres more or less situated in Lot 50, of Sub. #2 Azusa Land & Water Company. Purchase of land Carried by the following vote of the Council: for Disposal Plant Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Site. Owens, Arnold. Noes: None, Absent: None. ' Mayor Arnold appointed Councilman Malone a Committee of one to represent the City of Azusa Councilman Malone appointed committee in escrow proceedings for the purchase of land of one. for Sewage Disposal Plant site. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Owens that Council approve the action of Mayor Arnold. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Owens, Arnold. , Noes: None. Absent: None.
