AN RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK AND STAFF TO PREPARE
DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR HOLDING A SPECIAL
ELECTION PERTAINING TO A VOTE ON RESCINDING
ORDINANCE NOS. 99-1, 99-2 AND 99-3 PERTAINING TO THE
PROPOSED ROSEDALE DEVELOPMENT GENERAL PLAN
AMENDMENT, SPECIFIC PLAN AND DEVELOPMENT
AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, on January 14, 1999, the City Council of the City of Azusa introduced
Ordinance Nos. 99-1, 99-2 and 99-3 (the "Ordinances") at a regularly scheduled meeting; and
WHEREAS, on January 20, 1999, the City Council of the City of Azusa
conducted the second reading of and adopted the Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Constitution and California Elections Code Section
9241, during the thirty -day period between the adoption of an ordinance and its effective date
proponents of a referendum may circulate a petition seeking to cause an ordinance to be rescinded
or submitted to a vote of the people; and
WHEREAS, prior to the effective date of the Ordinances, proponents of a referendum
obtained signatures on referendum petitions; and
WHEREAS, on February 22, 1999, the City Clerk received said referendum petitions and
signatures; and
WHEREAS, on March 22, 1999, the City Clerk determined that the required number of the
City's registered voters have signed the petitions and the City Clerk therefore certified the petitions;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to California Elections Code section 9241 if a valid petition
containing the requisite number of signatures is timely submitted to a city, the city council must
either:
(a) repeal the entire ordinances, or
(b) submit the ordinances to a vote of the city's electorate; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to call for an election on the Ordinances.

I, Adolph Solis, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution No. 99-C46 was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 5th day of April, 1999, by the following vote of the Council.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Clerk and staff are hereby directed to prepare all documents
necessary for holding a special election on the Ordinances.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective upon its adoption.
