CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. SEPTEMBER 16, 1940, 7:30 P. M.
Due to lack of a quorum the City Council of
the City of •Azusa adjourned to meet again on
Monday, September 23, 1940 at 7:30 P. M.
CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA.
230 1940. 7s30 P. M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper,
Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens, City Attorney
' and City Clerk.
Each member present having acknowledged receipt
of a written copy of the minutes of the regular
meeting of September 2, 1940 and notice of
adjourned meeting of September 16, 1940, the
Mayor asked if there were any objections or
corrections to said minutes. There being none,
the minutes of the regular meeting of September
2, 1940 were unanimously approved as written.
A request, presented -by Neal Van Sooy, for use
of the City Auditorium and City energy on
October 30, 31 and November 1st, for an all -
electric cooking school, was read.
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that same be granted.
Carried by the following vote -of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Street Superintendent Arthur Wolfe requested
' a two weeks vacation.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Coun-
cilman Bradshaw that same be granted, with pay.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Councilman Malone offered an Ordinance
entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
CREATING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES IN THE
CITY OF AZUSA AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND
PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
to be placed on its second reading.
The title of this Ordinance was then read.
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by
Councilman Jumper the Council waive the
further reading of this Ordinance.
Carried by the following vote of the Councils
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
' Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None,
Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by
Councilman Arnold this Ordinance be adopted
as read and numbered Ordinance No, 352.
Carried by the following vote of the Councils
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Mr. J. C. Muehe appeared before the Council
relative to an insurance policy on Lighting
Standards.
